Tuina
Literally, the terms of Tui, and Na means “ Pushing , and Holding “ is a form of Chinese manipulative therapy often used in conjunction with acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping. The practitioner may brush, knead, roll/press and rub the areas between each of the joints (known as the eight gates) to open the body's defensive (wei) Qi and get the energy moving in both the meridians and the muscles. The practitioner can then use range of motion, traction, massage, with the stimulation of acupressure points and to treat both acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions, as well as many non-musculoskeletal conditions.
Tuina Therapy
-Keeping the balance between Yin and Yang. The basic of Tuina therapy serves to regulate the Yin and yang, by removing the excess, and invigorating the deficiency in order to restore the body’s harmonious state.
-Regulation of Qi and Blood. Any excess or deficiency of Qi and Blood circulation results in the occurrence of diseases. Tuina can regulate Qi and Blood flow, therefore correcting any excess or deficiency the body might have.
-Lubricating Joints. Tuna therapy manages to relax tendons, promote the blood circulation, reduce swelling and pain, and release the spasm of the affect tissue to promote the recovery of the joints.
-Regulation of the respiration system. Tuina therapy can promote the ventilation of the respiratory tract, increase vital capacity and improve physiological function of the lungs.
-Regulation of the immune system. Tuina therapy exerts regulative function on the immune system by the nerve-body fluid mechanism. Experiments have shown that Tuina therapy can increase the quantity of white blood cells and strengthen their phagocytic function.
